Sheriff’s Office Marine Patrol Rescues Boaters Who Ran A Ground

CHAUTAUQUA LAKE – The Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office Marine Patrol is credited with rescuing boaters who ran a ground while on Chautauqua Lake over the holiday weekend.

Deputies responded to assist a boater that became grounded in a shallow area near the Village of Celoron on Sunday.

Sheriff’s Deputies were able to safely remove three adults and one small child from the vessel, transporting them to shore via their patrol boat.


The Department’s Marine patrol then assisted with removing the vessel the following morning.

There were no injuries or charges as a result of the incident.
