MAYVILLE – The application period for a tourism grant in Chautauqua County is now open.

The Chautauqua County Department of Planning and Development announced the news on Wednesday.

The agency uses the County’s five percent occupancy or “bed tax” for the rental of lodging units to fund the account.

Anyone interested in applying for the funding, which would be used to further enhance the tourism industry in the county, can apply online.

Last year, officials said occupancy tax revenues exceeded expectations by nearly 40 percent with revenues exceeding budget by more than $500,000. That dramatically passed funds collected in 2019.
