MAYVILLE, NY (WNY News Now) – A 46-year-old Jamestown man has been sentenced in connection with a trio residential burglaries in southern Chautauqua County.

Last week, Judge David Foley sentenced David Spunaugle to five years in state prison, plus five years of parole supervision on his convictions of a burglary and attempted burglary charges.

In August, 2021 police said Spunaugle broke-into a pair of Kiantone homes.

Then in October 2021, Jamestown Police arrested David Spunaugle after a woman allegedly found him inside on her East Fifth Street home.

He was accused of attempting to steal a chainsaw, silverware and camera equipment from her house.

At the time, police said Spunaugle jumped out of a window and fled area. He was taken into custody by officers a short distance away from the scene of the crime.
