WASHINGTON, D.C. (WENY) – After winning Tuesday’s special election, Joseph Sempolinksi, the Congressman-elect for NY’s 23rd Congressional district will be sworn into office on September 13th.

Sempolinski ran against Democratic candidate Max Della Pia to finish former Congressman Tom Reed’s remaining term for the 23rd district. Reed resigned on the house floor back on May 10th.

“I am looking forward to hitting the ground running for the people of the district. My entire team will be spending the time between now and the 13th doing everything we can to be ready to go after the swearing-in is completed. We will be working to get constituent services and legislative functions back up and running as quickly as possible,” Sempolinksi said.

The ceremony will take place at the U S Capitol in Washington D.C.
