MAYVILLE, NY (WNY News Now) – Chautauqua County lawmakers are poised to accept funding for improvements at the Dunkirk Airport.

The Federal Aviation Administration has awarded the county a $670,000 dollar grant to help pay for new runway lighting at the airfield.

If approved by local lawmakers during a special meeting on Monday, the county and New York State will split a $80,000 dollar bill to cover the remainder of the project’s projected cost.

In total the FAA is covering 90 percent of the $750,000 dollar project.
