Busti, NY (WNY News Now) – A Jamestown Man was arrested Sunday afternoon after allegedly recklessly driving while intoxicated in the Town of Busti.
Officers with the Lakewood-Busti Police Department were dispatched in search for a Gray Chevy Cruze that reportedly was driving in a reckless manner.
Police determined the vehicle left a roadway traveling along a ditch before coming back onto the road. While offroad the vehicle had nearly hit a tree and telephone pole. The vehicle did however, jump a pile of logs and sheared off a sign post.
Witnesses state the vehicle did not stop and kept going, despite leaving behind several car parts, along with the front license plate.
Assisted by the Jamestown Police Department, officers found the operator, Steven Stills Jr. at his Jamestown Address, still behind the wheel.
After undergoing a field sobriety test, it was determined that Stills was operating the vehicle while intoxicated.
Stills was then taken into custody for driving while intoxicated, operating a mobile device while driving, leaving the scene of a property damage accident, and many more charges.
Stills will appear in the Town of Busti Court on a later date.
