Dunkirk Man Faces A Slew Of Charges For Allegedly Shooting Children

DUNKIRK, NY (WNY News Now) – A 34-year-old Dunkirk man faces a slew of charges after allegedly shooting two children during a drive-by shooting in Chautauqua County over the summer.

Javier Cruz-Corraliza was formally charged by the Chautauqua County District Attorney’s Office on Thursday in connection with the July 18 shooting of the kids, ages 8 and 12.


According to witnesses, the children were in a vehicle traveling on Route 60 when the shooting occurred. The car stopped at a nearby Kwik Fill in Fredonia where medical personnel treated and then transported them to Brooks Memorial Hospital.

Cruz-Corraliza faces charges of first-degree and second-degree felony assault and two counts of felony attempted assault. He has since placed bail and is due back in court next month.
