MAYVILLE, NY (WNY News Now) – A Georgia woman has been found guilty of causing a fatal wrong-way crash on Interstate-86 in Chautauqua County last year.

She was, however, acquitted on the more serious charge of felony manslaughter.

51-year-old Bradley Wakefield, of Cattaraugus, died as a result of the July 2021 crash.

The jury came to this verdict on Monday after a two-week long trial.

This case was tried by DA Schmidt and Second Assistant District Attorneys Erik Bentley and Emily Woodard.

Sentencing is scheduled for December 19, 2022 before Judge David Foley. Capell is facing a maximum sentence of seven years in state prison.
