Fishermen Accused Of Cheating In Lake Erie Walleye Tournament In Court

CLEVELAND, OH (WNY News Now) – The two Ohio fishermen, accused of putting weights in their catch to win high stakes fishing tournament, were in court this week.

42-year-old Jacob Runyan and 35-year-old Chase Cominsky gained national attention when video went viral that showed weights and fish fillets inside their tournament-winning catch.

The incident happened last month at a walleye fishing tournament on Lake Erie.











The two men were indicted on criminal charges, including one count of cheating and one count of attempted grand theft and were in a Cleveland court to answer to those charges.

Both men pled not guilty and are scheduled to be back in court on November 9th.
