Man Charged In Robbery, Bomb Threat At Chautauqua Mall

LAKEWOOD, NY (WNY News Now) – A man has been charged in connection with an attempted robbery and bomb threat at the Chautauqua Mall.

Lakewood Busti Police say the incident happened just before 1 o’clock on Monday afternoon at the Banter by Piercing Pagoda kiosk within the shopping center.

Its alleged that Michael Lee threatened a clerk with a bomb in an attempt to rob the establishment.

Evading a search by police and mall security, Lee was able to flee after disguising himself with makeup to cover his facial tattoos.

Lee was eventually arrested a few streets away from the shopping center and charged with third-degree robbery and petit larceny. He was later released due to the state bail reform law.
