MAYVILLE, NY (WNY News Now) – After being closed for over a month due to a major water main break, the Chautauqua County Department of Health and Human Services’ offices in Mayville are reopening.

Chautauqua County Executive PJ Wendel announced the office, located at the Hall R. Clothier (HRC) Building located at 7 N. Erie St. in Mayville, N.Y., will reopen to the public on Monday, December 5.

“I am pleased to announce that DHHS will reopen to the public on December 5,” said Wendel in a statement. “I thank Josh Rothwell, Assistant Deputy Director of Public Facilities, and his Buildings and Grounds crew for all of their hard work. I also thank our residents for their patience.”

Due to a water line break back on November 2, the second, third and fourth floors of the building, which house county health programs and services, were closed to the public.

With this reopening, the Public Health, Environmental Health and Social Services Divisions will be open to the public and anyone wishing to access these services can do so by going to the second-floor reception desk.
