Jamestown Police Seize Around 50,000 Fentanyl Pills During Traffic Stop

JAMESTOWN, NY (WNY News Now) – Just prior to an area wide drug raid that resulted in 19 arrests, local law enforcement seized a major amount of fentanyl pills during a traffic stop.

Officers with the Jamestown Metro Drug Task Force, along with partner agencies, were conducting surveillance of a vehicle traveling through the area around noon on Wednesday.











Following a traffic stop, and the help of Jamestown Police K-9 Kal and Chautauqua County Sheriff K-9 Drake, investigators recovered 9 pounds and 13 ounces of fentanyl pills.

There is estimated to be around 50,000 to 60,000 pills total, with a street value of around $500,000 dollars. There was also $3,000 in cash.

The car’s female driver, who was not identified by police, is in federal court by the Drug Enforcement Administration.
