JAMESTOWN, NY (WNY News Now) – A new Tim Hortons is getting ready to open in Jamestown next week as the business’s owner eyes to knock down drive-thru wait times for the popular coffee shop.
“The stores are busy, the lines are long, so we want to get a store here that can maybe take some people out of our North Main Street store, our Brooklyn Square store, even Foote Avenue, and speed those lines up,” explained Tim Hortons Franchise President and Owner Blake Tarana.
Jamestown’s sixth Tim Hortons coffee shop opens on Washington Street next week, featuring a restaurant model without an inside café.
“Once COVID hit, restaurant models changed, we closed inside lobbies for a couple months and we discovered it is operationally possible to run without a storefront,” said Tarana. “Honestly, sometimes it is a little easier operationally.”
Taking center stage of this development is not one, but two drive thru lanes, a new concept for Tim Hortons rolling out at select locations.
“We’re going to be the first ones in the east that have it,” continued Tarana. “No inside business, double drive-thru only, limited menu, it’s built for speed and all of the convenient products that people love the most.”
Breakfast sandwiches, varieties of donuts, Timbits and bagels will make up the menu, including a new drink ‘on tap.’
“One of the big things we’re going to have is nitro. We’re going to have nitro cold brew, nitro refreshers, which, other stores don’t have right now,” said Tarana. “Foam on top, just like a beer would give you, but you can drink it while driving.”
The new location plans to open with a soft launch Tuesday, December 27 at 5 a.m. and then a full grand opening on January 14th featuring a week of giveaways with gift cards, mugs and coupons.
