CLYMER, NY (Erie News Now) — Skiers and snowboarders packed local resorts, taking advantage of the warm weather before the snow melts.

The slopes were full at Peek’n Peak in Clymer, New York on Thursday afternoon, with outdoor enthusiasts enjoying the weather.

A stretch of cold, snowy days made for perfect snow coverage, and the moment the sun shined, skiers took advantage.

They said after staying inside during the storm, there’s no better way to make the most of a day off.

“we had a decent amount, we didn’t have that 6 feet we saw in the North but overall we were able to make snow,” said Bryan Geehrer, Peek’n Peak Resort. “When those temperatures drop below freezing we’re able to turn those machines on and make snow along with Mother Nature’s Lake effect.”

Mount Pleasant in Edinboro is also busy this week after opening for the season a week ago.
