Double Road Rage Incidents

CARROLL, NY (WNY News Now) – A 23-year-old Frewsburg man faces charges in connection with two road rage incidents in the Town of Carroll last month.

Michael Ostrom faces a slew of charges from Town of Carroll Police after he was accused in two separate road rage incidents on Christmas Eve 2022 and the following Tuesday, December 27.

First, Ostrom is accused of following a vehicle too closely on Warren Road in the early evening hours of Christmas Eve.

After flashing his headlights blinding the driver in front of him, the complainant turned on to Riverside Road at which point police said Ostrom passed the vehicle and stopped abruptly in front of the victim.

He then allegedly excited his car and began yelling obscenities before he got back into his car, drove farther down the road, made a U-turn and then as he passed by the other driver again, allegedly made threats to harm them.

In the next instance of alleged road rage on Tuesday, December 27, Ostrom is accused of stopping on Bunce Road at Oak Hill Road for an extended period of time. When the victim approached his vehicle from behind, and passed Ostrom on to Oak Hill Road, Ostrom allegedly gave chase and passed the other vehicle in a no passing zone.

After allegedly cutting off the driver, police said Ostrom almost caused a collision when he braked abruptly. After coming to a stop, he then exited his car approached the other driver once again yelling and threatening the complainant.

Police said he then got back into his vehicle and fled at a high rate of speed causing debris to be thrown on the other vehicle involved.

During both instances, officers said children were in the backseat of the victim’s vehicle.

In total, he faces nearly a dozen different charges and was released with an appearance ticket.
