JAMESTOWN, NY (WNY News Now) – If you’re like most Americans, you’re paying about the same for gas as last week.

AAA reports the national average price for a gallon of gas as of Tuesday is $3.40.

For perspective, the price of gas is 12 cents more than a month ago, but nine cents less than this time last year.

In New York State, the average price per gallon is $3.48.

In Chautauqua County the average sticker tag is $3.60 a gallon and $3.40 a gallon in Cattaraugus County.

Demand for gas is down a bit, while supplies are increasing.

Of course, the exact price and movement vary from state to state, and even from neighborhood to neighborhood.
