Maple weekends in New York State

NEW YORK STATE (WENY) — Sunday, Governor Kathy Hochul issued a sweet proclamation that the weekends of March 18th-19th and March 25th-26th as “maple weekends” in New York State.


Hochul highlighted that New York maple producers experienced a record-breaking year in 2022, producing 840,000 gallons of maple syrup.

New York State continues to rank second in the nation in maple production.

“Maple weekends” usually take place throughout the month of March, every year.



Maples farms, across the state, open their doors to the public to give people a chance to taste pure maple syrup — right from the source.

This year, “maple weekends” will take place at nearly 150 maple sugarmakers’ farms, across the state.
