Dunkirk Man Accused Of Writing “Bad Checks” For Over $25,000

SILVER CREEK, NY (WNY News Now) – A Dunkirk man is accused of writing and trying to cash “bad checks” for over $25,000.

Last month, the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division launched an investigation into Cody Schrader.

Schrader, deputies say, issued a checks to himself totaling over $25,000 and did so knowing his funds were insufficient to cover the checks he wrote.


On Tuesday Schrader turned himself in to the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office for arraignment.

He is charged with third-degree grant larceny as part of legal proceedings in the Town of Hanover Court.
