Spike In Vehicle Break-Ins Reported In Northern Chautauqua County

DUNKIRK, NY (WNY News Now) – Police in northern Chautauqua County are warning residents to lock their vehicles following an uptick in break-in complaints over the past month.

City of Dunkirk Police say the string of vehicle burglaries happened in the area of King Street last Tuesday and East Benton Street on Saturday.


Two suspects have since been arrested and identified: Alex Colon-Ruiz and Angela Goetz.

The duo, officers report, have been charged with various counts of petit larceny for allegedly taking items from several unlocked vehicles in the area.

Dunkirk Police remind residents to lock their vehicles and to keep any valuables out of sight.
