Spring Water Main Flushing Begins

JAMESTOWN, NY (WNY News Now) – The Jamestown BPU bi-yearly water main flushing begins Friday afternoon. 

At around 1 p.m. pre flushing in the Village of Falconer will begin in the areas of Aldren, Mapleshade, Ralph, and Valmeere. With the entire village planned to be flushed from 8 p.m. Saturday overnight into Sunday.


The remainder of flushing will take place from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.from the beginning of May until the 10th. With no flushing on the weekend of the 6th and 7th.

Crews will also begin at 4:30 a.m. on May 3rd to accommodate downtown Jamestown and Fairmount avenue businesses.

During the flushing process, water is expected to be discolored, especially when crews are in a resident’s neighborhood. The discolored water is expected to last anywhere from 12-24 hours.
