PORTLAND, NY (WNY News Now) – A Sinclairville resident is accused of driving while impaired by drugs following a vehicle crash in Chautauqua County.

On Wednesday around 3:40 a.m. deputies with the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to a report of a vehicle off the roadway on Plank Road in the Town of Portland.

First responders located a vehicle in a ditch, and upon investigation, it is alleged that the operator of that vehicle, Todd Witt, was under the influence of drugs.

The 45-year-old was charged with move from lane unsafely, aggravated unlicensed operation, driving while ability impaired by drugs, and criminal possession of a controlled substance.

Witt was issued tickets and will appear in the Town of Portland Court at a later date.
