DUNKIRK, NY (WNY News Now) – A recent Dunkirk shooting left one person struck and hospitalized Tuesday afternoon.

The Dunkirk Police Department were called to the Maple Avenue and East 6th Street area in the City of Dunkirk at around 4:25 p.m.

Officers say that the confrontation was amongst people who know each other, making the situation a personal one. 

The victim was promptly taken to Brooks Memorial Hospital and later transferred by Mercy Flight to Erie County Medical Center.
