Jamestown Well Being Check Leads To Weapon Arrest

JAMESTOWN, NY (WNY News Now) – A Jamestown man in possession of a stolen firearm was arrested early Wednesday morning.

Jamestown Police responded to the Warner Plaza and Barrett Avenue area for a well being check at around 5:51 a.m. on July 12. 

Officers then discovered that 24-year-old Cody Boisvert was in possession of a loaded 9mm handgun. 


Further investigation found that not only did Boisvert not possess a NYS pistol permit but, the handgun was also reported stolen.

Boisvert was charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 2nd degree and Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the 4th degree and taken to the Jamestown City Jail where he is being held pending arraignment.
