JAMESTOWN, NY (WNY News Now) -Pennsylvania State Police updated the media Wednesday afternoon on the continued search for Michael Burham.
Authorities have received over 500 tips from the public, the majority stemming from Northwest PA and Western NY with a few from other states such as Ohio.
Based on tips from the public, authorities now believe a drone was allegedly flying above Warren County Jail during the time of Burham’s escape. Police are seeking out the operator of the drone for questioning. Whether the drone had something to do with the felon’s escape is unknown at this time. The investigation into his escape continues.
New information based off prior investigations also lead authorities to further believe Burham is armed with a weapon. The public is warned to remain vigilant and to not approach Burham if he’s spotted, nor should any individual attempt to “take the law into their own hands”.
Despite numerous alleged sightings, nothing has been confirmed by police. Though investigations into any possible sightings of Burham continue.
They continue to follow up on all tips and remain confident that Burham will be caught eventually.
