WESTFIELD, NY (WNY News Now) – A Westfield County Legislator is being linked to a fatal car crash earlier in the month.
Westfield Police report that around 3 p.m. July 6th, District 19 representative John Hemmer was driving north on Hardenburg Road when he drifted into the other lane and struck a motorcycle.
The occupant of the motorcycle, 88-year-old Jeffery Duchaine, was transported to Westfield memorial hospital, then flown to ECMC in Buffalo where he succumbed to his injuries.
Hemmer was reportedly not injured in the accident.
Police say the incident is still under investigation.
