JAMESTOWN, NY (WNY News Now) – A Jamestown Man arrested for breaking into cars Wednesday morning was caught with drugs while in a jail cell. 

At around 10 a.m. Wednesday morning officers responded to a report of a suspicious person entering vehicles on the city’s north side. 

After further investigation and speaking to victims, officers located the suspect, 23-year-old Justin Rowe.

Officers allege Rowe of breaking into two separate vehicles and stealing property from both. 

Police arrested Rowe and transported him to the Jamestown Police Department.

Around three hours later officers observed Rowe attempting to conceal drugs while inside his jail cell.

When confronted, Rowe attempted to conceal a small piece of tinfoil inside his blanket.

Officers were able to locate the tinfoil containing less than a gram of Fentanyl.

Rowe is facing two counts of Petit Larceny, Tampering with Physical Evidence and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance.
