DUNKIRK, NY (WNY News Now) – The Chautauqua County Fair is returning to Dunkirk this summer with a bang this week.

From Tuesday, July 18 through Sunday, July 23 the fair will be open and hosting a slew of fun amusement park rides, nightly grandstand events, classic fair foods, and cute show animals.

“Big presence as always, we always divide up into thirds,“ explained Fair Director Dave Wilson. “A third of it is the animals, a third is the midway, and a third is the grandstand events. So, we’ve got something for everybody, no one should go home disappointed.”

Tickets for the fair and for major events, such as the  Demolition Derby and Monster Truck Show are available on the Chautauqua County Fair website and at the fairgrounds.

The fair, which has been a major local event for more than 140 years, promotes agriculture and builds a sense of community within Chautauqua County.
