JAMESTOWN, NY (WNY News Now) – A routine traffic stop led to the arrest of two Jamestown residents on Tuesday night. 

Jamestown Police performed a traffic stop in the East 6th Street and Fulton Street area for an observed traffic violation at around 8:39 p.m. on July 18. 

Police identified the vehicle occupants as Walter Whitfield and Faye Wolbert. 

Further investigation led to the discovery of 5.5g of methamphetamine in Wolbert’s possession, as well as a switchblade within the vehicle. 

Wolbert was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Seventh Degree and Criminal Possession of a Weapon Third Degree. 

Both were taken into custody and held pending arraignment in the Jamestown City Court.
