JAMESTOWN, NY (WNY News Now) – A report of a domestic dispute on the City’s Northside led to one behind bars Wednesday night.
Jamestown Police responded to a residence for a report of a domestic dispute. Once inside, officers were able to make contact with a victim.
The unidentified victim stated that 23-year-old Maria Covert entered their house without permission and held them against their will.
Covert reportedly left the residence some time after and was located by authorities a short distance away.
Upon further investigation, it was found that Covert was in violation of an order of protection from the victim.
Covert was taken into custody without incident and transported to the City Jail facing charges related to Burglary, Criminal Contempt, and Unlawful Imprisonment. She is currently being held for arraignment.
