Mayville, NY (WNY News Now)-On July 24th, Anthony Cunningham, a 44-year-old resident of Jamestown, was sentenced to 9 years in state prison, followed by 5 years of post-release supervision, after pleading guilty to Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 2nd degree.

The sentencing stems from the execution of a search warrant by the Jamestown Police Department on June 15, 2022, during which Mr. Cunningham was arrested and charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd degree, and the weapon offense.

The drug charge was covered as part of his plea agreement after pleading guilty to the weapons charge on June 13, 2023. In addition to the recent charges, Mr. Cunningham was sentenced in December 2022 on a violation of probation for a previous felony conviction, receiving an 8-year sentence with 5 years of post-release supervision, to be served concurrently.

This marks Mr. Cunningham’s second felony conviction in Chautauqua County within 10 years, categorizing him as a second felony offender.
