Community Center to Offer Heat Relief on Friday Amid Soaring Temperatures

OLEAN, NY (WNY News Now) – With temperatures hitting a possible 90 degrees Friday, a building in Olean will be opened to the public looking for an air conditioned space.

With scorching temperatures predicted to hit 90 degrees on Friday, Olean Mayor William J. Aiello has declared that the air-conditioned John J. Ash Community Center will be open from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., offering a much-needed respite for residents seeking relief from the sweltering heat.


The decision comes in response to a weather advisory from the National Weather Service in Buffalo, predicting hot and humid conditions with temperatures expected to reach 90 degrees on Friday.

The air-conditioned John J. Ash Community Center will serve as a cooling station during the afternoon hours when the heat is at its peak. Mayor Aiello encourages residents to take advantage of this comfortable facility and visit for a much-needed respite from the scorching summer day.
