SILVERCREEK, NY (WNY News Now) – A local beer distributor is continuing their efforts to donate emergency drinking water to volunteer fire departments.

The Arthur R. Gren Company donated a pallet of emergency drinking water to the Silver Creek Volunteer Fire Department Thursday morning.

Every year, Anheuser-Busch pauses their beer production to can emergency drinking water, ready to help out in disaster situations.

The brewing company teamed up with the National Volunteer Fire Council to create the Emergency Drinking Water Firefighters Program.

The Jamestown based distributor sent over 2,300 cans to the north county volunteer firefighters.

“This effort is part of  Anheuser-Busch’s commitment to deliver more than two and a half million cans, more than ever before, to volunteer fire departments across the country,“ explained Jeff Reinhardt, Arthur R. Gren representative. “In support of disaster preparedness and relief efforts for this year. Now in the fifth year of this initiative Anheuser-Busch and Arthur R. Gren are expanding our reach to demonstrate our shared dedication to the communities we serve.”

Keeping firefighters hydrated during long incidents is a critical need for fire departments, yet many volunteer departments struggle with having something as simple as water.

  1. Hey! I just wanted to ask if you ever have any issues with hackers? My last blog (wordpress) was hacked and I ended up losing a few months of hard work due to no backup. Do you have any methods to protect against hackers?
