
Jamestown, NY (WNY News Now) – A man found asleep in a stairwell with drug paraphernalia in plain sight has been arrested by Jamestown Police Department officers on charges of criminal possession of a controlled substance and trespassing.
On August 11, 2023, around 9:30 PM, officers from the Jamestown Police Department responded to a trespassing report at the Spring Street Parking Ramp. Upon arrival, officers encountered multiple juveniles who reported the presence of an unknown individual consuming suspected narcotics within the stairwell.
The officers immediately conducted a thorough search of the ramp area, leading to the discovery of Jeremy D. Lyons, 28, of Jamestown who was found asleep on the stairwell floor near a pool of urine. The officers observed a collection of hypodermic instruments and other drug paraphernalia in plain sight around him. A subsequent search of Lyons’ belongings uncovered a quantity of amphetamines.
Lyons was taken into custody without incident and subsequently transported to the Jamestown City Jail. He is currently being held pending arraignment.
