Altercation Involving Pennsylvania Woman Leads to Charges

(WNY News Now) – An incident occurred on August 20th, 2023, at approximately 12:15 AM, prompting the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office’s intervention in the Town of French Creek. A disorderly altercation involving a Pennsylvania woman resulted in charges being filed.

French Creek – On August 20th, 2023, at approximately 12:15 AM, Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office responded to an emergency call from the Clymer Fire Department. Officers encountered a disorderly scene in the Town of French Creek.


Stephanie L Schoettker, a 45-year-old resident of Butler, Pennsylvania, was at the center of the altercation. She reportedly became agitated and unruly, prompting the Clymer Fire Department to seek assistance from the Sheriff’s Office for an EMS call for service.

Schoettker allegedly struck a Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Deputy with a closed fist. In response law enforcement issued appearance tickets to Schoettker, charging her with second-degree harassment and resisting arrest.

After being taken into custody, Schoettker was subsequently released. She is scheduled to appear in the Town of French Creek court at a later date.
