(WNY News Now) – Congressman Nick Langworthy (NY-23) has announced a $53,600 Rural Development Grant from the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) for the Town of Pomfret in Chautauqua County. The grant will fund the purchase of a 2024 Freightliner tandem snowplow truck, bolstering the town’s winter weather preparedness.

Pomfret – Congressman Nick Langworthy (NY-23) unveiled a significant boost to the Town of Pomfret’s winter maintenance capabilities with a $53,600 Rural Development Grant from the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA). This grant, coupled with a $267,400 loan, will facilitate the acquisition of a 2024 Freightliner tandem snowplow truck.

Supervisor Pacos conveyed his gratitude for Langworthy’s dedication to rural community development and public safety. The new snowplow truck is expected to play a crucial role in road maintenance, ensuring the well-being of Pomfret’s residents.

This funding is part of the USDA’s Community Facilities Direct Loan & Grant Program, which aims to provide affordable resources for essential community facilities in rural areas.
