JAMESTOWN, NY (WNY News Now) – Suicide is the leading cause of death in the United States, and the 11th leading cause of death in New York. This Saturday, you can join the annual Out of The Darkness Community Walk, hosted by the Suicide Prevention Alliance of Chautauqua County, to support research, education, and survivor programs.
The walk not only helps support the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, but promotes connection within the community to show that despite mental health battles, you won’t have to walk alone.
The walk will take place Saturday, September 16th at Jackson Taylor Park beginning at 11 a.m.
To donate or sign up for the event, you can visit preventsuicidechq.com.
Suicide will effect one in five American families. If you or someone you know is struggling with a crisis, you are urged to call the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline at 9-8-8.
Making therapists and psychologists take insurance would be more helpful. I have begged 4 doctors 2 hospitals and numerous other practitioners for help. Always told sorry,no one takes your insurance.
