Inmate at Chautauqua County Jail Allegedly Assaults Jail Employees

(WNY News Now) – A 21-year-old male inmate at Chautauqua County Jail, has been arraigned on two counts of Attempted Assault in the Second Degree after allegedly stabbing two jail employees with a pencil on September 11, 2023.

Mayville – On September 11, 2023, at around 10:50 AM, Xavier Guadarrama, 21, currently incarcerated at the Chautauqua County Jail in Jamestown, NY, allegedly attacked two jail employees with a pencil. The incident led to Guadarrama being arraigned at the Centralized Arraignment Program, facing two counts of Attempted Assault in the Second Degree.

The jail staff members targeted in the attack received medical attention, though the extent of their injuries remains undisclosed at this time. Guadarrama was already in custody at Chautauqua County Jail for a separate pending case.


Authorities are conducting an investigation into the incident, and Guadarrama is now held without bail while awaiting his next court appearance. Further details on the case are pending as the investigation unfolds.
