
(WNY News Now) – A Mayville man received a 3-year prison sentence with 3 years of post-release supervision on September 25, 2023, after pleading guilty to Attempted Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd.
Mayville -Alexander Latta, a 28-year-old resident of Mayville, found himself in legal trouble in November 2022 when the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s office executed a search warrant at his residence. Latta faced serious charges, including Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd and two counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd.
However on July 18, 2023, Latta pleaded guilty to a reduced charge of Attempted Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd. His fate was decided yesterday, September 25th, when Judge David Foley sentenced him to a determinate state prison term of 3 years.
Additionally, Latta will be subject to 3 years of post-release supervision upon completing his prison sentence.
