JAMESTOWN, NEW YORK (WNY NEWS NOWS) – A weak system will pass by just to our South later tonight and into Friday with a few isolated showers possible. High pressure will then bring in another extended period of dry and warmer weather through at least the middle of next week.

After some early morning sunshine Thursday, clouds will thicken back up through the day. A few isolated showers are possible across the Southern Tier this afternoon.

The best chances for showers tonight and early on Friday will be across the Southern Tier. Otherwise, mostly cloudy skies are expected through the night and into the day on Friday. Highs will be in the mid to upper 60’s.

High pressure will build back in over the weekend and remain locked in place through much of next week.

This will guarantee a beautiful stretch of mainly sunny weather for the weekend with sunshine continuing into next week.

Temperatures will reach the lower 70’s over the weekend and continue to climb next week. Highs will be in the upper 70’s to lower 80’s next week which is 10-15 degrees above average.

Overnight lows will cool back down into the 50’s across most areas.
