(WNY News Now) – A 25-year-old resident of Lockport, NY, was apprehended by the Bureau of Criminal Investigation on charges of Assault in the 1st degree (B Felony) and Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 2nd degree (C Felony).
Lockport – In an incident that occurred on September 25, 2023, at approximately 7:40 P.M., New York State Troopers from Lockport responded to reports of a potential shooting at the Wendy’s restaurant located on South Transit Road in the town of Lockport.
Upon investigation, it was determined that a dispute had escalated in the restaurant’s parking lot, leading to Jerry Torres Jr. allegedly brandishing a Glock 9mm pistol and subsequently shooting a 24-year-old individual in the leg. The victim, suffering from non-life-threatening injuries, was swiftly transported to the Erie County Medical Center via ambulance.
After the shooting, Torres fled the scene. However, he later voluntarily turned himself in at the SP Lockport facility on September 26, 2023. Following his surrender, Torres was processed and is presently held at the Niagara County Jail, awaiting arraignment.
Notably, he did not possess a valid pistol permit at the time of his arrest.
