(WNY News Now) – A Buffalo man faces multiple charges, including burglary and grand larceny, for allegedly stealing merchandise from the Walden Galleria and violating a no trespass order.
Buffalo – Buffalo resident Gary E. White, also known as Gary Johnson, was arraigned before State Supreme Court Justice Paul B. Wojtaszek on several charges, including three counts of Burglary in the Third Degree, one count of Grand Larceny in the Third Degree, one count of Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the Fifth Degree, and one count of Petit Larceny.
The indictment alleges that on January 16, 2023, White allegedly unlawfully entered the Walden Galleria in Cheektowaga with the intent to commit a crime. He reportedly stole a substantial quantity of merchandise from a department store within the mall and exited without payment, in violation of a prior no trespass order.
On January 23, 2023, White allegedly returned to the same store, making off with sweatshirts, hoodies, and jackets valued at approximately $5,048. The stolen items were recovered in the parking lot as he fled.
Further accusations arise from an incident on April 20, 2023, when White purportedly pilfered shoes, clothing, and other goods from multiple Walden Galleria retailers. A store manager alerted law enforcement, leading to the discovery of stolen merchandise in White’s possession.
White’s pre-trial conference is scheduled for Thursday, November 2, 2023, at 10:30 a.m., and he remains in custody without bail.
