Suspect Arrested in Traffic Stop on Fugitive Warrant

(WNY News Now) – A 39-year-old male, was apprehended during a routine traffic stop on September 28th, 2023, in Jamestown,  due to traffic violations and an outstanding warrant from Volusia County, Florida.

Jamestown – On the evening of September 28th, 2023, at approximately 9:45 pm, officers from the Jamestown Police Department Violent Crime Unit conducted a standard traffic stop at the intersection of Gilberds St and 23rd St. The stop was initiated for observed traffic infractions. During the course of their investigation, officers discovered that the vehicle’s operator, Wilfredo J. Ramirez-Quinones, 39, was allegedly using switch plates. Additionally, it was revealed that Mr. Ramirez-Quinones had an active warrant issued from Volusia County, Florida.

Without incident, the officers took Mr. Ramirez-Quinones into custody based on the outstanding warrant and transported him to the Jamestown City Jail. He is now facing charges as a Fugitive from Justice.


Wilfredo J. Ramirez-Quinones is currently held in the Jamestown City Jail, awaiting arraignment in Jamestown City Court.
