(WNY News Now) – A man was apprehended by local law enforcement on September 26, 2023, at approximately 7:26 pm, after he attempted to make a purchase using a counterfeit bill at Dollar General in Allegany, New York.
Allegany, NY – Michael A. Pitt found himself in police custody after allegedly trying to pass off counterfeit currency at a local store. On the evening of September 26, 2023, at around 7:26 PM, authorities arrested Pitt at the Dollar General located at 24 N. First St., Allegany, NY 14760.
Following his arrest, Pitt was taken to the Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office Substation in Olean for processing. Subsequently, he was released with an appearance ticket, pending an arraignment at a later date in the Village of Allegany Court.
