
(WNY News Now) – A shooting incident on I-190 in Buffalo occurred on October 26, 2023, resulting in one fatality and two individuals injured. State Troopers are currently investigating the case and seeking information from the public.
Buffalo, NY – At approximately 11:20 a.m. on October 26, 2023, State Troopers based in Buffalo responded to a shooting incident that took place on I-190 within the city of Buffalo. Preliminary findings from the investigation revealed that a vehicle belonging to the City of Buffalo Sewer Authority, occupied by three individuals, was heading southbound on the I-190, just south of exit 9.
The suspect, driving a late-model dark-colored Jeep Grand Cherokee, was also traveling southbound on the same interstate. While both vehicles were in motion, the suspect fired multiple gunshots at the Sewer Authority vehicle. Tragically, the attack resulted in one fatality and left two victims wounded.
The victims involved in this harrowing incident are identified as Myron L. Walker, 30 years old, from Buffalo, NY, who sustained gunshot wounds, Lamar T. Whitfield Jr., 23 years old, also from Buffalo, NY, who suffered gunshot injuries, and Keyshawn N. Gault, 22 years old, who tragically lost his life at the scene.
Multiple law enforcement agencies are collaborating to investigate this incident. The New York State Police (NYSP) Bureau of Criminal Investigation, the Forensic Identification Unit, Buffalo Police Department, the Erie Crime Analysis Center, and the Erie County District Attorney’s Office are all actively contributing to the ongoing investigation.
