
(WNY News Now) – The election results from several towns in Chautauqua County, including Arkwright and Busti are fully reported and counted.
Arkwright Town Supervisor: In Arkwright, the election for Town Supervisor saw Brian McAvoy securing victory with 62.25% of the votes, totaling 216 votes. McAvoy ran as a Democratic candidate. His opponent, Lawrence J. Wilcox, a Republican and Conservative candidate, received 36.31% of the vote with 126 votes. There was also one write-in vote, constituting 0.29% of the total.
Arkwright Town Clerk: For the position of Town Clerk in Arkwright, Jane A. Lindquist, a Republican and Conservative candidate, emerged as the winner with 72.91% of the vote, accumulating 253 votes. There were two write-in votes, comprising 0.58% of the total.
Arkwright Town Justice: In the Arkwright Town Justice race, Jeff Huyck secured the position with 83.57% of the vote, receiving 290 votes. Huyck represented both Democratic and Republican parties, along with Conservative, with 106, 137, and 47 votes, respectively. There was also one write-in vote, making up 0.29% of the total.
Arkwright Town Councilmember: The race for Town Councilmember in Arkwright allowed voters to choose up to two candidates. Chris Jackson, a Democratic candidate, received 30.40% of the vote with 211 votes. Polly Gambino, a candidate from the Democratic, Republican, and Conservative parties, garnered 36.60% of the vote with 254 votes. Christopher C. Cannon, a Republican and Conservative candidate, secured 17.72% of the vote with 123 votes. Additionally, seven write-in votes were cast, accounting for 1.01% of the total.
Arkwright Town Highway Superintendent: The election for Town Highway Superintendent in Arkwright concluded with Lisa M. Waldron, a Republican and Conservative candidate, winning with 77.52% of the vote, accumulating 269 votes. There were six write-in votes, constituting 1.73% of the total.
Busti Town Supervisor: In Busti, the Town Supervisor position was secured by Jesse M. Robbins, who received an overwhelming 77.33% of the vote with 986 votes. Robbins ran as a Republican and Conservative candidate. There were also 14 write-in votes, making up 1.10% of the total.
Busti Town Clerk: The election for Town Clerk in Busti was won by Darlene H. Nygren, who secured 82.75% of the vote with 1055 votes. Nygren represented the Republican and Conservative parties. Additionally, there were six write-in votes, accounting for 0.47% of the total.
Busti Town Justice: The race for Town Justice in Busti saw William A. Geary emerging victorious with 73.73% of the vote, totaling 940 votes. Geary was a Republican candidate. There were seven write-in votes, making up 0.55% of the total.
Busti Town Councilmember: Busti residents had the option to vote for up to two Town Councilmembers. James B. Andrews received 39.18% of the vote with 999 votes, running as a Republican and Conservative candidate. Paul A. Gustafson, also a Republican and Conservative candidate, secured 39.29% of the vote with 1002 votes. In addition, there were 11 write-in votes, comprising 0.43% of the total.
Busti Town Highway Superintendent: In the race for Town Highway Superintendent in Busti, Gregory M. Johnson secured the position with 78.59% of the vote, receiving 1002 votes. Johnson was a Republican and Conservative candidate. There were also seven write-in votes, making up 0.55% of the total.
Carroll Town Supervisor: Russell L. Payne secured victory in the Carroll Town Supervisor race with 70.19% of the vote, accumulating 452 votes. Payne represented the Republican and Conservative parties. There were also 76 write-in votes, comprising 11.80% of the total.
Carroll Town Clerk: The position of Town Clerk in Carroll was won by Susan J. Rowley, a Republican and Conservative candidate, with 88.51% of the vote, totaling 570 votes. Additionally, there were nine write-in votes, accounting for 1.40% of the total.
Carroll Town Justice: The race for Town Justice in Carroll concluded with Robert E. Gray, a Republican and Conservative candidate, securing 89.29% of the vote with 575 votes. There were no write-in votes.
Carroll Town Councilmember: In Carroll, voters had the option to select up to two Town Councilmembers. Timothy P. Burkett, a Republican candidate, received 38.82% of the vote with 500 votes. Kenneth W. Dahlgren Jr., a Republican and Conservative candidate, garnered 41.46% of the vote with 534 votes. Additionally, there were four write-in votes, making up 0.31% of the total.
Charlotte Town Supervisor Vacancy: The race for the vacant Town Supervisor position in Charlotte was won by Francis Lauricella, a Republican candidate, who secured 85.48% of the vote with 159 votes. There was also one write-in vote, making up 0.54% of the total.
Charlotte Town Justice: In the election for Town Justice in Charlotte, Jeffrey S. Crossley, a Republican candidate, emerged as the winner with 90.86% of the vote, receiving 169 votes. There was also one write-in vote, comprising 0.54% of the total.
Charlotte Town Councilmember: For the position of Town Councilmember in Charlotte, voters had the option to select up to two candidates. Harold J. North III received 42.74% of the vote with 159 votes, running as a Republican candidate. Mark E. Jaquith secured 40.59% of the vote with 151 votes, also as a Republican candidate. Additionally, there were two write-in votes, making up 0.54% of the total.
Charlotte Town Councilmember Vacancy: The race for the vacant Town Councilmember position in Charlotte was won by Darin Smith, a Republican candidate, who secured 89.78% of the vote with 167 votes. There was also one write-in vote, accounting for 0.54% of the total.
