Swift Response to Dunkirk Structure Fire

(WNY News Now) – The Dunkirk Fire Department swiftly responded to a structure fire at 85 East 2nd St. at 6:50 p.m. on November 27, 2023.

Dunkirk, NY – Firefighters arrived to find a second-floor blaze in apartment B, prompting the evacuation of all residents before their arrival. The fire, localized to the bedroom, was promptly extinguished with a deployed hose line. Two adjacent apartments were evacuated as a precaution.

Despite heavy damage to the apartment of origin, no injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation. Mutual aid was provided by the East Dunkirk Fire Department. Michael D. Edwards Jr., the Fire Chief, oversees the ongoing investigation into the incident.
