(WNY News Now) – Reg Lenna Center for The Arts welcomes the 1988 comedy classic “Scrooged” on Wednesday, Dec. 20, at 7 p.m. as part of its 100th-anniversary celebration of the Palace Theater.

Jamestown, N.Y. – This festive season, Bill Murray stars as Frank Cross in a humorous rendition of Charles Dickens’ “A Christmas Carol.” Cross, a TV network president with a meteoric rise from the mailroom, embodies the modern-day Scrooge—mean, nasty, and humorously sadistic. As he navigates a ghostly time warp, encounters range from a maniacal cab driver to a seven-foot headless messenger. “Scrooged,” with a PG-13 rating and a runtime of 101 minutes, offers a comedic twist to the holiday classic at a discounted ticket price.

Upcoming films at The Reg feature Paul Giamatti in “The Holdovers” (Jan. 3), Leonardo DiCaprio, Lily Gladstone, and Robert DeNiro in Scorsese’s “Killers of the Flower Moon” (Jan. 6), and Bradley Cooper as Leonard Bernstein in “The Maestro” (Jan. 10).

Tickets to Movies at The Reg are $7 for movies and $6 for family films, with an additional $1 theater restoration fee added. Special movie engagements are priced differently. They may be purchased 12-5 p.m. Monday and Friday and 12-8 p.m. Wednesday, at 716.484.7070 and online at reglenna.com.
