(WNY News Now) Jamestown, NY – United Way of Southern Chautauqua County recently received a $11,389 gift from local union electricians, bringing the organization closer to meeting its 2023 Fundraising Campaign goal of $1.4 million.

A local agreement between NECA (National Electrical Contractors Association) and IBEW Local 106 (International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers) allows for union electricians to donate five cents for every hour worked to local United Ways in Chautauqua and Cattaraugus County.

“We’re so thankful for our partnership with IBEW Local 106, and for the support of Ahlstrom-Schaeffer,”
said Amy Rohler, UWSCC Executive Director. “We’ve had such a great response to our campaign so far this year, but we’re not done yet. If you haven’t done so already, please consider making a gift to United Way. Help us meet our goal.”
