(WNY News Now) – Jamestown, NY – A 51-year-old caretaker from Jamestown, was arrested on charges of Endangering the Welfare of a Physically Disabled Person 1st Degree and Criminal Obstruction of Breathing. The arrest follows an investigation into a reported incident of abuse at a care facility involving a physically disabled individual.
The Jamestown Police Department’s 2nd platoon executed an arrest warrant for Baez at her Southside residence on December 27, 2023 at 8:50 PM. The alleged incident, which occurred on December 17, 2023, involved Baez allegedly grabbing the adult victim by the neck and dragging them to their room. Baez, an employee of the care facility, faces charges of serious misconduct. The victim’s welfare was compromised, leading to charges of Endangering the Welfare of a Physically Disabled Person 1st Degree and Criminal Obstruction of Breathing. Baez is currently held pending arraignment in the Jamestown City Court. The arrest stems from an investigation by the Jamestown Police Department into the reported abuse at the care facility.
