(WNY News Now) – Jamestown, NY – A 53-year-old Jamestown resident is facing a myriad of charges after a high-speed pursuit culminated in a personal injury accident on Maple St and Ahrens Ave on December 27, 2023, at 9:39 AM.

On the morning of December 27, officers from the 1st platoon observed a red sedan driven by Daniel Garcia traveling at an excessive speed in the area of Maple St and Ahrens Ave. Garcia’s refusal to stop at a stop sign prompted a traffic stop, initiating a sequence of events that led to a personal injury accident. The collision occurred when Garcia allegedly evaded another stop sign, causing the pursued vehicle to collide with a fence and a house.

In a brief but intense pursuit, Garcia continued driving, eventually coming to a stop in front of a south-side residence. Attempting to escape on foot, Garcia was swiftly apprehended by officers. Charged with nine counts of failing to stop at a stop sign, two counts of Aggravated Unlicensed Operation 1st, Leaving the Scene of a Personal Injury Accident, Reckless Endangerment 1st, Reckless Driving, Speed not reasonable and prudent, Resisting Arrest, and Unlawfully Fleeing a Police Officer in a Motor Vehicle, Garcia was additionally charged with DWAI Drugs.

Currently held at the Jamestown City Jail, Garcia awaits arraignment in Jamestown City Court.
